About Nous

Nous is an AI-powered assistant that helps households manage their bills, saving them money and time. Our mission is to make people’s lives simpler and fairer.

We’re a well-funded start-up led by experienced entrepreneurs that’s growing extremely rapidly. We’ve helped over 150,000 people since the cost-of-living crisis started.

Since launch mid-last year we've been rolling out our service through a variety of channels — direct to consumers and also via employers who want to help their teams save hundreds (sometimes thousands) by using Nous.

Our members — people like Rob and Christian — give us rave reviews. Our Net Promoter Score is in the high +80s.  We’re frequently featured on TV and in print with our views on cost-of-living consumer issues.

We’re a B Corp, formally accredited for our commitment to exceptionally high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. We’re proud of our social impact.

There are nearly 30 million households in the UK. Over 85% of them overpay on their bills.  And that’s before we reach the rest of the world. We are pioneering the technology solutions to eliminate this class of drudgery and admin, and the money and time wasted.

It’s not easy. We work hard.  It’s challenging. But it’s fun too. We have an office-first culture, based near Farringdon station in central London. We have all the things you’d expect — free snacks, great coffee — and also a vibrant office social calendar and opportunities to play sports and volunteer with your teammates.

If you are brilliant and want to build something amazing that changes the world, get in touch.

The role

As well as going direct to consumers, we go via HR teams, desperate to help their employees with not just the cost of their bills, but also to reduce the hassle and time spent doing boring admin.

Thus far, without a full-time sales team (with one founder, one internal all-rounder and a little bit of external help with the sales stack), we’ve reached well over 100 companies with our product - with big names as diverse as Network Rail, the AA, Burger King, Notting Hill Genesis, and Majestic Wine.

We’re now starting to build out and develop our internal sales capabilities. We’re looking for brilliant, driven and structured sales-people who have consistently outperformed targets and expectations through their drive, focus and skills.

We have recently recruited one full-time salesperson, and are looking for more Account Executives to join the team.  You’ll be responsible for selling Nous (either as a free or paid-for product - you can earn commission either way) to businesses of all shapes and sizes. We have some lead flow to convert but you’ll also work with the team to turbocharge that area.

This is an incredible opportunity to work with a small, highly motivated team to build out the sales function.  You’ll report to a founder, and work closely with the broader team not just on developing the sales function but also on pricing and influencing product development.

About you

You can sell. You conduct yourself with integrity to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our clients and our members.

You can sell. You conduct yourself with integrity to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our clients and our members.

You’re a self-starter. You have an ‘ask forgiveness not permission’ bias, backed up by sound decision-making. Which means you can sell in an unstructured environment. In other words, you don’t need a playbook or developed infrastructure to hit the ground running.

Having said that, you like to build systems and processes to make selling more efficient, and to help others around you sell. You’re keen to work transparently and track your activity in the CRM. (If it’s not in the CRM, did it happen?) You like to measure, understand your performance, and use numbers to improve.  We have our first sales playbook, but you’ll help develop and iterate our efforts.

You’ve probably got 3-5 years experience in sales. You’ve sold into organisations from 50 to 1000s of people. You’ve got a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.  You are a top performer.  If you haven’t sold in to HR Decision Makers (HR Professionals and/or company owners), you’ll be able to quickly pick up the nuances of that target customer profile.

You’ll have some experience of what it’s like to be ‘early on the ground’ in a sales team. Not all processes are fleshed out, and you have to perform whilst building.

Finally, you’ll be bright, empathetic, highly curious, and comfortable working with founders and selling to C-level folk. Not to mention, humble and collegiate.

Responsibilities:

You’ll work closely with (and report to) Jon (co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer) to build out our b2b2c sales capability.

At Nous we ‘work in the open’. We believe in sharing problems and the value of the whole team having high context as to what is and isn’t working as we develop and grow the business.

As an Account Executive you’ll be responsible for:
