Nous is an AI-powered assistant that helps households manage their bills, saving them money and time. Our mission is to make people’s lives simpler and fairer, starting with the 30 million households here in the UK, and eventually, far beyond.
Over 85% of households overpay on their bills. That’s the scale of the problem we’re here to solve and it’s hiding in plain sight. It’s also fiendishly complex. What we’re building looks elegantly simple to the user, but under the bonnet it’s one of the most ambitious consumer AI systems in the UK. We’re not iterating on someone else’s playbook; we’re writing a new one. If you want to work on something obvious or easy, this isn’t it.
We’re backed by top-tier investors, led by a seasoned founding team and growing seriously quickly — more than 3,000% year-on-year. That makes Nous one of the UK’s fastest-scaling consumer start-ups. Since launch, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of households get to grips with their bills - and we’re just getting going.
We’re immensely proud of what we’ve built so far. Our Net Promoter Score is consistently above +80, and our members (people like Lindsay, James and Vicky) give us rave reviews. Now we’re scaling that experience to millions more people, making Nous feel less like another finance app and more like something that quietly sorts your life out in the background. The product might look like magic but making it work is anything but.
Nous is intentionally lean, by design. We’re an AI-native company, not just an AI-native product. Everyone here is expected to use AI to its full potential, whether that’s debugging a system, streamlining a workflow or improving how we serve customers. We don’t hire layers of middle management; we hire smart, high-agency people and give them real ownership.
It’s not easy. We move fast, think deeply, and hold ourselves to high standards. We’re proudly office-first (based near Farringdon station) because we believe high-context collaboration helps us build better. The kitchen’s well-stocked, the coffee’s excellent, and so is the team.
If you’re brilliant, ambitious and want to build something amazing that changes the world by improving people’s lives, get in touch.

As a Senior Product Designer at Nous, you’ll be shaping the future of one of the UK’s most ambitious consumer AI services. This isn’t a role for someone who just wants to “make things look nice.” You’ll think like a product manager, execute like a designer and QA like an engineer, bringing clarity, craft and consistency to some of the most complex design challenges out there. After all, if this was simple, someone would have built Nous already.
You’ll lead from the front as a natural product thinker whose superpower just happens to be design. Whether it’s mapping how a household might converse with an agentic AI service, crafting data-capture flows that feel seamless rather than painful, or designing the end-to-end service experience that builds trust over time, you’ll turn ambiguity into intuitive, elegant journeys. Storytelling will be central to your craft, whether that’s selling a vision to stakeholders, illustrating user journeys for product squads or helping new joiners understand what makes our digital products distinctively Nous.
We are an AI-native company, and we expect the same of you. That means you’re genuinely excited (not threatened) by what AI means for the craft of design. You’ll prototype with tools like Lovable, Replit, v0 or Cursor, and experiment with motion and micro-interactions that bring our service to life. Naturally, you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers, not only designing but shipping features, QAing them, and getting them in front of users to make sure they work. You’ll know when to design within constraints and when to push engineers to innovate, inspiring the team to go further.
At Nous, design isn’t judged by what’s in Figma but by what ships and how it performs. We rigorously measure success and impact, which means you must be comfortable being hypothesis-led, testing assumptions and solving from first principles. You’ll design not just to ship features, but to validate and learn, facilitating workshops and cross-functional conversations that sharpen ideas and get us to better outcomes, faster.
This is a role with huge scope and responsibility. You’ll shape not just what ends up in our users’ hands, but the relationship they have with Nous over weeks, months and years. If you thrive on challenge, momentum and the chance to design something truly new (not just a product, but a trusted, evolving service with genuine social purpose) you’ll feel right at home.
