About Nous

Nous is an intelligent assistant that helps households manage their bills, saving them money and time. We’re a well-funded early stage startup led by experienced entrepreneurs on a mission to make people’s lives simpler and fairer.

By handling household hassles for Nous members, we're freeing them from a lifetime of admin while saving them money and time. This has led to rave reviews from members like Rob and Christian.

We’ve thought carefully about how to ensure our product and business has a distinctive positive social impact. We’re very proud to say that, as of October 2023, Nous is officially a B Corp. This means we’ve been formally accredited for our commitment to exceptionally high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. We also regularly lead consumer campaigns – on issues such as broadband social tariffs for instance.

Over 150,000 people have used our free service during the cost-of-living crisis. We’re now rolling out our paid, smart-household management service through a variety of channels – including employers who want to help their teams save hundreds of pounds (sometimes thousands) by using Nous. And because Nous operates at a household level, even if an employee doesn’t pay the bills themselves, their household still benefits.

We’ve worked with over 100 companies to bring Nous to their teams, and now we want to work with many more!

The role

Nous is now starting to build out and develop its internal sales capabilities, having delivered early growth from founder sales and one internal all-rounder with some external help with the sales stack up until this point.

We’re looking for serious sales-people at multiple stages of their career.

For this role, as an SDR, you’ll be responsible for lead generation and outreach at Nous. You’ll be an integral part of the sales process at Nous, helping bring our social and customer mission to all kinds of organisations.

You’ll be supported by a new Account Executive (who may arrive before or after you), but you’ll be a real self-starter and responsible for building and developing many new capabilities in our organisation, and have real opportunity for development as the company grows.

About You

You can sell. You are hungry and relentless.  You are interested in a business that has a consumer mission.  You conduct yourself with integrity to build long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our clients and our members.

You’re a self-starter. You have an ‘ask forgiveness not permission’ bias, backed up by sound decision-making. Which means you can sell in an unstructured environment. In other words, you don’t need a playbook or developed infrastructure to hit the ground running.

Having said that, you like to build systems and processes to make selling more efficient, and to help others around you sell. You’re keen to work transparently and track your activity in the CRM. (If it’s not in the CRM, did it happen?) We have our first sales playbook, but you’ll help develop and iterate our early efforts.

You’ve probably got 1-2 years experience in sales, likely B2B SaaS, in sales, biz dev or lead generation.  You’ve got excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages.  You’re results oriented, a self-starter, motivated by hitting KPIs and contributing to company growth. You’ve got good time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.  You enjoy working in a collaboriatve, fast-paced environment.

You’ll have some experience of what it’s like to be ‘early on the ground’ in a sales team. Not all processes are fleshed out, and you have to perform whilst building.

Finally, you’ll be bright, empathetic, highly curious, and comfortable working with founders and selling to C-level folk. Not to mention humble and collegiate.

Responsibilities

You’ll work closely with (and report to) Jon (co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer) to build out our b2b2c sales capability.
